Paint Brush......

Yesterday afternoon I was lucky enough to visit the Raglan gallery and see Kate Litchfields Glass Onions exhibition. The paintings were of items and memories around her while she painted in an old caravan in her garden. She used a huge mixture of media from Oils to Watercolours

I left with a big smile on my face and a red dot on one of her amazing artworks. I would like to share with you some of my projects.

Have a nice Sunday!

making pom poms

I am having a lazy Sunday by the fire and what better to do than make fabric pom poms. They make ideal decorations and are so easy to make.
X

1. Using thick cardboard, cut out 2 matching circle templates with an inner circle.

2. Cut your fabric into long strips

3. Take one strip and sandwich it between your 2 templates (this will be the string to tie it all together)

4. Wrap your fabric around your templates until they are totally covered.

5. Repeat 3 times

6. Pull your two centre strings together tightly and with your scissors placed between the 2 templates cut all the way around.

7. Take away your cardboard and tie the centre stings. Fluff it up and bingo you have a perfect pom pom!

Painting days...

Tom and I headed to the Wildbrumby Schnapps Distillery for a yummy lunch today and I came home totally inspired.

Along with producing yummy schnapps the owner Brad Spalding is a fabulous painter. His paintings capture skiers, in bright yellow jackets, in a fun and abstract way. I recommend going for a visit and seeing the distillery and artwork for yourself.

Shigeru Tokumaru

Tom has just returned from a trip to beautiful Niseko Japan. On his journey he luckily bumped into someone who could introduce him to Japanese Artist Shigeru Tokumaru and show him his gallery. Tom fell in love with his work and later showed me. His paintings are remarkable and look like dreams captured in an array of different lights. Tom brought me a painting which will soon hang pride of place in our home.

Australia Day! Everyday should be an adventure.

I hope everyone has had a fantastic Australia day.

I have had a most spectacular time at Mimosa Rocks with the love of my life. It's a diverse coastline of rocky coves and headlands, long sandy beaches and coastal lagoons, all back by forested hills. We spent last night camping in the national park, along with many native Australian animals, and spent today exploring.

What a wonderful country Australia is.
I feel the luckiest girl in the world being able to live here and experience all the amazing things it has to offer.
